Modest Apparel...

Recently the subject of modest clothing came up amongst a group of us gals when we were talking about fashion, etc. I wanted to share the following website where I have found so many cute wardrobe pieces. The items change with the season and if you sign up for email subscription Jade sends out coupons/discount codes on a regular basis:

Proverbs 31:21-22
“She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.”

Sneak peek....

Saturday was a very busy day for us! Saturday's are always busy but when we add a photo session into the equation....well, let's just say it was a very fun day! We started getting ready early that morning in order to have the kids ready in time and headed out for our 7:30am appointment with Sis. Ashley. She did an amazing job keeping Rachel's attention the entire time, even brought some candy for her as a "reward", at least that's what I call it =) After we were done with pictures, we hightailed it out of the west valley to get to the church in time for prayer before outreach. Then, after we were done visiting our usual bus riders on outreach we went and got snow cone ice and went to an apartment complex that our numbers have been low at. We handed out free snow cones and talked to the kids and parents about coming to church on Sunday. We had 14 new riders on Sunday! It is so awesome how the Lord works when His people put forth an effort in the kingdom of God! Anyways, below is a sneak peek at our photo session (I stole it from Ashley) lol, there is more to come...

In-n-out burger

Okay, so I've always wondered why I feel very sick after eating at In-n-out burger. I haven't eaten there in a long time but since I would always feel sick afterwards, I decided to only get a grilled cheese sandwich and have a few fries. When I would do this, I didn't get sick. Well, I just found out the culprit of the pain....it's their beef. Their beef is 60/40! Seriously, my body must have been working overtime trying to digest all of that fat! Looks like I will stay away from their burgers for the long term =)

6 years....and counting=)

You know that old saying "time flies when you're having fun" ? Well that is soooo true! I can hardly believe that me and my husband have been married for 6 years as of yesterday! It has been so full of fun, even during the times when we were stressed out, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
To celebrate our anniversary, we went out to dinner on Friday night because Saturdays and Sundays are just so busy for us. Robert took me to the romantic restaurant "Season's 52", at Scottsdale Biltmore Fashion Park, and I was impressed with the classical elegance. Dinner was not only served in a wonderfully romanic ambiance but the food tasted amazing. My filet mignon was perfect and Robert enjoyed his venison, said it's the best he's had. I will post pics soon.
After dinner we walked around the Biltmore Fashion Park for awhile and window shopped before changing into our comfy shoes to go play a game of laser tag. We hadn't played laser tag in quite some time and it was a blast!!! (no pun intended). Our evening was perfect and we enjoyed spending the evening together planning for the future. Of course, we always plan for the future but it seems like when we are alone we can really discuss our "road map" in better depth.
When we returned to pick up our little ones, Josiah was fast asleep in "auntie" Cheramee's arms and Rachel was rambling about "uncle" Jon and "auntie" chyra....she had a blast! THANK YOU so much to Cheramee and Chyra for watching them! Oh, and for Jon sharing his new bride with our little kiddo's for the evening=) Rachel and Josiah absolutely adore ya'll and you're just awesome!

We met in 2002 at Youth Camp in California. He was a cabin monitor on the boy's side and I was a cabin monitor on the girl's side of the campground. We didn't begin courting until 2003 and quickly learned that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together serving the Lord. We were married on 3/18/2006 at Truth Tabernacle in Modesto, California (that was where my father pastored at the time), thus beginning the "Robert Lee family". Together we have quite a testimony to pass on to our future generation. I was raised in the church and though have had the same struggles every other young person has had, have never once thought about "sewing wild oats"...Jesus is just too precious to me and I would never cheat on him like that. Robert on the other hand was not raised knowing the things of the Lord and was involved in a lot of actions that caused heartache and pain, however was witnessed to by a cousin (Thank you Jesus!) and received the Holy Ghost, was baptized in Jesus Name, and all of his old sins were washed away! Now, we hope that between the two of our testimonies, we can create a home full of the Fruits of the Spirit so that our children will see Jesus in us!

Josiah's tooth, parties,....

I have been meaning to blog about Josiah's tooth but have not had a chance since life has been going very fast the past few weeks. He finally had a tooth break through the gums last week and already is learning how to use it....teething bisquits! He absolutely loves the fact that he can now enjoy theses fun "cookies" and makes a huge mess all over his face but has the greatest time=)

Robert had a day off of work yesterday after 14 consecutive days of working, we were pretty happy that he finally had a day off......even though Sunday's are so busy that it's not really a day "off" it still was nice to just be doing the usual Sunday "work".

I need to upload pics. Me, Rachel, and Josiah went to a birthday party both Saturdays the past two weeks, one was for Bradley and Daniel Carrasco, the other for Ethan Lipkin.....of course Rachel had a blast at both and now thinks that her "happy birthday party" (as she calls it) is coming soon. I will post pics as soon as I download them =)

Thank you so much Jesus!

Ok, so I just have to share. Only a few actually know about what I'm sharing below, but now it's time to use it as a testimony!
For almost the whole past two years the company my husband works for has been very slow. They have had business but not very much and so along with me having to take furlough days (time without pay) because of the State's deficit, my husband in addition to taking a 20% paycut also had to take some time off without pay. For some reason though the company has not gone under, while other's have. Of course it has been a daily prayer of ours that God would bless the owner with enough wisdom to keep the business going.
Now, fast forward to two weeks ago............we were dreading filing taxes, at last we decided to just file and get it over with. When we filed we found that we made $25,000 less than we did in 2009! As you can imagine we looked in awe at the bottom line final amount we brought home and said to one another "how did we make it?". Somehow God worked it out to where we had a roof over our head, food on the table (thank the Lord for spaghetti!), clothes on, gas in the tank.. (the list goes on and on) without any government assistance at all! Oh how we would have loved some assistance but alas, they look at gross income instead of net =( Needless to say we actually get a small tax refund this year! Woohoo! AND we qualify for all kinds of homebuyer incentitives now since our gross income was less. BUT now for the really good news.........Robert's work is busy! They are actually so busy right now that they can't keep up!!!! The bid requests are flowing in and they are rushing to get bids out. Robert is the lead and only finisher in the shop and is swamped with work! He was just told that he can work as much overtime as he'd like because of how busy they are!!!! Thank you Jesus! Seriously, we were just thinking the other night that we wouldn't be able to make it much longer with the way gas prices are and then Wham! God drops down a bunch of overtime! I'm bout' to have a Holy Ghost shout down right here at my desk.............don't worry, at least I'd be able to explain it =)
Have a great day and know that the Lord knows just how much we can take!

11 pounds and counting...

Okay, so I just wanted to share my little victory in the "the battle of the bulge", lol. As only some of you know (I haven't really shared my battle with many) I have been doing weight watchers religiously for the past 6 weeks. I have not "cheated" at all, except for actually having a hard time using all of my daily points. I have reached a loss of 11 pounds! I am so excited! It has actually been pretty easy and I have changed my eating habits in a healthy way. I am now only 19 more pounds away from my goal weight! As of now, I am back to the weight I was right before I got preggo with Rachel =) I think I will celebrate with some chocolate frozen yogurt this weekend =)
